We were heading down to Charleston for a show at the Dock Street Theatre, and for one reason or another everyone was pissed off at each other, and I was in the back milling around with the trees as they passed by the window at 75 mph as I was distracting from the bullshit flying across the band by some other bullshit going on. Anyway, after the show everything was honky-dory, but I didn't write a song then. I wrote it before.
ALWAYS ON TUESDAY
Maddie McGuire
(c) 2003 GirlMoon Music
(C)(Em)
Fasten your seat belt, come along for the ride
(C)(Em)
listen to the music by the ocean's tide
(C)(Em)
meet me at mile seventy-five
(C)(Em)
We'll go together for the last time
{chorus}
(C)(Am)
Been awhile since you looked at me this way
(C)(Am)
Since you smiled, since you let me say
(C)(Am)
all those things you never heard before
(C)(Am)
but I don't think I wanna say them anymore
Right past the exit for Cayce City
I caught you makin' glances at me
but ignored are my returns to be
so don't cast that judgment down on me
{repeat chorus}
(Refrain One}
(C)(Am)
You can't see me when you're blind
(Em)(Am)
I can't help from being this way
(C)(Am)
I wish that I could tonight
(Em)(Am)
why is it always on Tuesday
You'll never hear what you won't let me say
don't come here talkin' about some change
from where I stand it's still all the same
only two days passed going insane
{repeat chorus}
{Refrain Two}
I can't see you in the dark
I can't feel you so far away
I've lost your beating heart
Why is it always on Tuesday
