Back to Enniskillen

Aye the ancestral home there, up in the north.

Honestly I prefer tropical beaches, and drinks with umbrellas in them.

But yeah.

It is cold up there. And, I reserve the right to not disclose what "I've made my pages, I've made my kills" means.

(D)
My insides all dimmed
(A)
from the heart
(D)
these misadventures have
(A)
torn me apart
(D)
I dream all night of the
(A)
Fermanagh hills
(D)
the river Erne flowin'
(A)
through town
(D)
I've made my pages
(A)
I've made my kills
(D)
but the tryin' times are
(A)
bringin' me down

{chorus}
(G)
And if I could I'd make it
(F)
Back
(D)
Tomorrow
(G)
If I could I'd make it
(F)
Back to
(D)
Enniskillen

I feel more empty now than
ever before
I don't feel like I could
take anymore
filled my hopes with
glory and fame
and forgot to fill my days
with the word
my mates and I never
feel the same
so they can't understand me
to the core

{repeat chorus}

chased dreams from Australia
to Boston
carryin' those old gates
of Enniskillen
the frost surrounds me
in America
something mystic
this Appalachia
But I still dream of
the Ulster rain
to see those northern
lakes again
for a day when good
spirits know 'ya
and all roads lead
to Fermanagh
no matter how dusty
I'll see you again
a promise is still a
promise to me
we'll dance and you'll sing
where've you been
when I run for you to
embrace me

note: folksy Irish rock ballad - ya' know.
